    What is Counselling & Psychotherapy?

Counselling and psychotherapy are forms of “talk therapy” which may include talking about past and present life events as well as talking about feelings, emotions, relationships and behaviour patterns.

Counselling is usually short-term treatment and psychotherapy is longer-term. As a counsellor and psychotherapist, I can help you look at your issues and identify the right course of action to take to help your overcome your issue, or to help you find a better way of coping.

    What happens during sessions?

The aim of counselling and psychotherapy sessions are to help clients work through their emotional difficulties – with the support and encouragement of their therapist, in a safe and confidential environment.

The therapist’s role is not to judge the client or tell them what to do… but to help the client work towards finding their own solutions. This approach can help empower the client to deal with future emotional difficulties.

How therapy can benefit you:

  • Anxiety

  • Anger Management

  • Addiction

  • Depression

  • Relationship Counselling

  • Stress

  • Habit Breaking

  • Obsessive Thoughts

  • Bereavement

  • And more...

  • Why have therapy?

Therapy is a great way to talk through issues and can help with things such as relationship advice, depression, addictions, anger, bereavement and more. The therapeutic relationship built up during sessions can be very powerful at dealing with resolving past conflicts and as a result, present day challenges can be more clearly understood. The purpose of counselling and psychotherapy is not only to relieve suffering but also to enable clients to discover a deeper self-understanding. This deeper sense of self can help to facilitate a more positive outlook on life.
